Afternoon Tea in the Garden
8" x 6" x 3/4" (set)
Handbuilt stoneware, oxidation

"With this installation I have incorporated my love of hand building in clay, gardening and watercolour techniques. The 4 underglaze painted plates arranged as flower petals evoke fond memories of many garden tea times shared with dear friends and family members.

Since my retirement in 2002 I have been creatively following my life-long interest in clay with classes at Pine Tree Potters' Guild. I was fortunate in becoming a member of this creative and supportive Guild in 2006 where monthly demonstrations, with local and national potters, spark ideas and the imagination.

Other venues which have provided creative stimulus for me include the Gardiner Museum and Haliburton School of the Arts. For the past 18 months I have had much joy and continued learning in taking classes with Teresa Dunlop at her studio in Newmarket."
