Christel von Richter is a native of Germany who has lived in Canada since 1963. She was first smitten by the 'pottery bug' after taking a beginners' course at Pine Tree Potters in 1978. Christel has a passion for all animals, especially her horse Devon and is an accomplished potter and painter. The 'horse theme' is prevalent in much of her work. Also having a keen interest in nature and gardening, you will find incorporated in her pottery, wonderful paintings of birds and plants. Her wheel thrown pieces are both decorative and functional.

Christel has been an active member of Pine Tree, in the studio, sales and treasury for many years. She sells her work from her woodland studio near Ballantrae, Ontario, and also through the Guild's sales.
