The ninth annual Empty Bowls Event was held on Thursday November 15, 2018 at the Aurora Cultural Center, 22 Church St., Aurora. All funds raised at the event were divided equally, and donated to Aurora's Welcoming Arms and Inn From the Cold, Newmarket.
The Pine Tree Potters' Guild would like to graciously acknowledge the donation by Ann Mortimer of many small ceramic works from her collection. Through the sale of these works by silent auction at our spring sale, a substantial contribution has been made to the Empty Bowls Event for this year.

We are very grateful to all of the dedicated volunteers who have donated their time and skills to this year's event and to all the talented potters who took the time to make all the beautiful bowls.
Empty Bowls events are held by potters in communities throughout North America with the objective to raise funds and awareness for local charities that work to relieve hunger and homelessness. During the event, patrons select a handmade bowl from the hundreds on display and local chefs and bakers in attendance serve a ladle of their gourmet soup and artisan bread. The handmade bowl guests take home with them serves as a gentle reminder that not everyone has a full bowl every day.
