Pine Tree Potters' Guild - General Membership Information
Membership is available to potters of various skill levels and years of experience. Preference is given to residents of Aurora.
The aims and objectives of Guild membership are to:
- support members in developing their own skills
- promote and increase member's knowledge through an exchange of ideas
- provide members with an opportunity to show and sell their work
The Guild achieves this through:
- the operation and maintenance of a fully equipped working studio
- monthly meetings with presentations by guild members or guest speakers
- classes and workshops
- spring and fall sales of work by members
- occasional exhibitions of members' work
- the promotion and continued communications between other craft guilds across North America
- membership with Fusion, The Ontario Clay & Glass Association and Craft Ontario
- an association with the Aurora Cultural Centre
We offer three levels of membership:
The combined total of Studio and Associate memberships is limited to 80.
Membership is paid yearly and runs from January 1st to December 31st.
Pine Tree Potters' Guild - Studio Membership
Annual Fee: $325 (plus a one-time key deposit of $25, refundable when you relinquish your membership)
The Pine Tree Potters' Guild is a member-run, not-for-profit, organization.
As a Studio Member, you
- will have full access to the studio facilities 24/7, with occasional closures for workshops or other events.
- will have your own storage cubby for your tools, clay, etc.
- will be assigned to a kiln or glaze team.
- must perform regularly scheduled cleaning duties (floors or surfaces).
- must sign up for an additional Spring Cleaning duty.
- may participate* in Guild sales (spring and fall, juried) and exhibitions
- must work at least one shift at one sale even if you don't participate in the sale
- agree to attend 4 of the 8 monthly meetings (1st Monday of the month, except June, July, August and December).
- may participate in Raku* and potluck events.
- will receive monthly newsletters by email.
- will receive a discount on in-Guild classes.
- may take advantage of workshops* organized by the Guild.
- may have a page in the Gallery on the Guild's website
- are eligible to apply to become an Associate Member after fulfilling two years as a working Studio Member. Studio Membership is subject to availability and approval
by the Executive.

NOTE:
Membership renewal will be denied if a Studio Member fails to fulfill his/her
responsibilities as outlined above. Should you choose to cancel your membership
before the year ends, your membership fee is non-refundable.

Pine Tree Potters' Guild - Associate Membership
Annual Fee: $165
The Pine Tree Potters' Guild is a member-run, not-for-profit, organization. Associate Members typically have their own studio but have previously been a full
Studio Member of the Guild for at least two years. Associate Membership is subject to availability and approval by the Executive.
As an Associate Member, you do not have access to studio facilities but you:
- may participate* in Guild sales (spring and fall) and exhibitions
- agree to attend 4 of the 8 monthly meetings (1st Monday of the month, except June, July, August and December).
- must complete at least one shift at either the spring or fall sale regardless of whether or not you are participating in the sale
- may participate in Raku* and potluck events.
- will receive monthly newsletters by email.
- will receive a discount on in-Guild classes.
- may take advantage of workshops* organized by the Guild.
- may have a page in the Gallery on the Guild's website

Pine Tree Potters' Guild - Social Membership
Annual Fee: $50
The Pine Tree Potters' Guild is a member-run, not-for-profit, organization. Social Members are typically people who are on the waiting
list to become Studio Members, but may also include previous members and others who wish to maintain contact with the Guild. Attendance at monthly meetings is a great
way to meet other members and increase one's knowledge of pottery through the talks and demonstrations given by Guild members or guest presenters.
As Social Member, you do not have access to studio facilities nor can you participate in Guild Sales or Exhibitions, but you:
- are welcome and encouraged to attend the 8 monthly meetings (1st Monday of the month, except June, July, August and December).
- may participate in Raku* and potluck events.
- will receive monthly newsletters by email.
- may take advantage of workshops* organized by the Guild.
