"I love the malleability of clay and the ability to work in three dimensions to sculpt, carve, throw with an unlimited palate of finishes. Clay holds possibility for a vast range of creative self-expression that continues to excite and compel me.

Then there's the fire... I love the metaphor of clay... forming, passing through the fire, burning off the unnecessary and solidifying that which survives... and always some surprises from the kiln to challenge our need for control and keep us humble.

This piece addresses the current political climate as walls are built between nations, between individuals, between peoples, often at the sacrifice of our humanity.

After working in a variety of art mediums, I began working in clay as my primary medium over 15 years ago creating functional and sculptural work from my studio in Newmarket, Ontario. My work can be found in a variety of fine arts and crafts shows in Southern Ontario."
